Podcast #16 - Dec. 14, 2006 A Tribute to the Morning Sedition

One year ago, the Morning Sedition ended. On this edition of Indirect Democracy, I will be sharing with you some of my favorite skits and characters from the Morning Sedition. In between, I will intersperse some little news tidbits, nothing lengthy because the show is long enough. But enjoy, the facts, the funny and the fury.

Podcast #17 - Dec. 23, 2006 The Old Way Forward
The President held a year end news conference to set forward his ideas for the new year and look back at this year. Guess what? Political thumpins. Your daddy trying to bail you out and lower polls mean nothing to when money is at stake. The way forward is the same old slogan - we will stay the course and add more men to this folly. I will break down this press conference and add new economic figures and a quote from former Sec'y of State, Colin Powell, to bolster this argument.

Podcast #18 - Jan. 11, 2007 The Big Surge
The President's got a big surge coming. He's heard the advice of his commanders on the ground - and he decided to fire, replace or reassign them - but he's going to add more troops into the debacle called the Iraq War. He's taking responsibility - for whatever mistakes were made. Not specific mistakes or the planning as a concept - but if there were mistakes - and he's not saying which ones - he is taking responsibility. Well, from this point on, he is on notice as this last attempt to find any reconciliation in Iraq will be played out and eventually dumped onto his successor.

Podcast #20 - Jan. 28, 2007 The State of Our Union

This week saw the President give a State of the Union. In his speech, he lays down the framework for a war against Iran. He failed to keep us up to date with Katrina recovery. He also offered a plan to make health insurance tax deductible. On this podcast I will discuss each of those issues. At the end of the week, cities across the nation held protests against the War in Iraq. I attended that event and recorded speeches from the key speakers, spoke with attendees at the rally. There are also photos available at a new page entitled, "Jan. 27 Photos" in the favorite links section. The State of Our Union cannot be any clearer. The people voted for change and the President has offered little in showing that he understands that.
